Sometimes our customers lack the equipment, staff, or specialised experience needed to carry out certain types of testing, and that’s where we can step in to assist directly. We recognise that this can be a delicate balance, as our intention is never to compete with the industry we support, but to strengthen it. Our role is to provide help only when it’s genuinely needed, whether that means filling temporary capability gaps, offering specialist expertise, or providing access to advanced equipment that isn’t practical for every organisation to own. When the circumstances are right, we’re always happy to provide support, ensuring the work is carried out safely, accurately, and to the highest standard.
LIRA Testing
Using advanced Frequency Domain Reflectometry, we assess the health of HV and MV cables by identifying changes in impedance caused by ageing, moisture ingress, joint or termination defects, and insulation deterioration. LIRA testing provides accurate, repeatable data that highlights emerging faults early, supporting proactive maintenance and reducing the risk of unexpected outages.
Partial Discharge Testing
Using advanced Partial Discharge diagnostic equipment, we identify and locate insulation deterioration, voids, tracking, and emerging faults within cables, switchgear, transformers, and other HV/MV assets. PD testing provides early warning of problems that cannot be seen through standard visual or electrical tests, helping you prevent unplanned outages and extend asset life.
High Voltage Testing
Our High Voltage testing services apply controlled overvoltage to HV and MV assets to confirm insulation strength, identify weaknesses, and ensure compliance with industry standards. Using modern test sets and safe, proven procedures, we validate cable, transformer, and equipment performance before commissioning or following repairs.
