Description

AC/DC CURRENT SENSOR CT6875A. Supports Current Measurement of Inverters with High Current and High Speed.

Overview

Hioki’s pass-through type AC/DC current sensors can be connected directly to Hioki Power Analyzers and Memory HiCorders. Also, it can be connected to Power Meters, Oscilloscopes, DMMs, etc. by using an optional sensor unit.
The CT6875A has a frequency bandwidth of DC to 2 MHz (Model CT6875A-1 is DC to 1.5 MHz) and a rated current of 500 A. It is used for R&D, quality evaluation, manufacturing, and maintenance in markets such as wireless charging systems, inverter motors for industrial equipment, power conditioners for PV, and quick charging facilities for EVs.

Key Features

  • Rated for 500 A AC/DC measurement, with capability to handle up to ±1,500 A peak (for 20 ms at ≤ 40 °C) under derating conditions.

  • Very wide frequency bandwidth: amplitude measurement from DC up to 2 MHz (for the 3 m-cable version) and phase measurement up to ~1 MHz.

  • Uses a “zero-flux” flux-gate detection method for DC to low‐frequency currents (for excellent linearity and low offset) combined with a CT winding for high-frequency currents.

  • High accuracy performance: for example amplitude accuracy at DC/45–66 Hz: ±0.04 % reading ±0.008 % full scale; phase accuracy ±0.08° as per spec sheet.

  • Excellent noise-resistance: built-in plated shield & high common‐mode rejection ratio (CMRR) to accurately measure currents buried in noisy environments.

  • Robust operating environment: wide ambient temperature range from –40 °C to +85 °C (non-condensing 80% RH or less). Aperture suitable for passing wires or busbars: core diameter φ 36 mm (about 1.42 in) so you can measure conductor sizes up to this diameter.

  • Automatic sensor recognition when used with compatible power analyzers (e.g., Hioki PW8001): the sensor’s serial/model data, phase‐correction, etc., can be read automatically.
